The President of the United States receives a detailed document each morning, known as the President's Daily Brief (PDB), which summarizes the key events of the past 24 hours across the world. The idea behind this app is to provide a similar document, albeit without a national security focus and without having intelligence personnel in each country. To generate the summaries, we rely on OpenAI's GPT-3 artificial intelligence and a selection of national newspapers. One national newspaper per country.
We have carefully chosen these newspapers to ensure that the summaries are reliable and representative. We have consulted Wikipedia's Perennial Sources to identify the most reliable sources in each country, and where possible, have selected the "Generally reliable" newspaper. If no perennial source was available, we have opted for the newspaper with the most readers in the country.
If you have any feedback on the selection process or would like to suggest other newspapers for inclusion in the President's Daily Brief, please do not hesitate to contact us. We also offer the opportunity to create custom news summaries not just from online newspapers, but from social media feeds, email newsletters and website updates. Please get in touch for more information.
